Out West, Where Developers Roam
A major photography exhibition on the American West opens Thursday at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 151 Third St., and runs through Jan. 28. The show, “Crossing the Frontier: Photographs of the Developing West, 1849 to the Present,” uses about 300 images to show how land has been used and developed since the discovery of gold in California.
The museum is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m Thursdays; closed Mondays and holidays. Admission: $7, adults; $3.50, students and seniors; free, children and members. Information: (415) 357-4000.
