Clipper update--Bill Fitch, who has coached more games than any other NBA coach, is one loss away from becoming the first to lose 1,000 games. Fitch has compiled an 896-999 record in 24 seasons. The Clippers have lost their last 14 games at San Antonio since a 115-103 victory on March 13, 1989. Center Kevin Duckworth has scored only five points in the last four games.

Spur update--The Spurs have lost seven of their first nine games after losing centers David Robinson and Will Perdue to back and thumb injuries, respectively, and forward Chuck Person to a back problem. Dominique Wilkins is averaging a team-high 15.2 points a game.
