Matchups Set for West Coast Tournament

West Coast Conference co-champions Santa Clara and St. Mary’s were seeded No. 1 and 2 for for the West Coast Conference tournament, which runs Saturday through next Monday at Loyola Marymount.

Santa Clara, 16-10 overall and 10-4 in the WCC, plays eighth-seeded Loyola (6-20, 3-11) at 6 p.m. Saturday. St. Mary’s (20-7, 10-4) faces No. 7 Pepperdine (6-20, 4-10) at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

In the women’s WCC tournament, to be held Thursday, Friday and Sunday at Loyola, Portland (25-1, 14-0) was seeded No. 1. Pepperdine (14-12, 6-8) was seeded No. 5 and Loyola (5-21, 4-10) No. 6.
