Rojas Powers North Hollywood West

Pablo Rojas had three hits, including a triple and a double, and scored three runs to help North Hollywood West defeat Van Nuys South, 9-3, in an American Legion District 20 baseball game at Grant High on Thursday.

Jose Avila drove in three runs for North Hollywood West (16-5) with a sacrifice fly in the second inning and a two-run double in the fourth to make the score 6-0.

Van Nuys South is 4-16.

In other District 20 games:

Panorama City 4, Sun Valley 0--Evan Lovett pitched a three-hitter, struck out two and walked two for Panorama City (13-6) at Poly High.

San Fernando 11, Verdugo Hills 3--Fernando Rubacalba had two doubles and two runs batted in, Ricky Cortez had two hits and two RBIs and Francisco Enriquez had two hits and one RBI for host San Fernando (7-13).

In a District 16 game:

Moorpark 10, Simi Valley 4--Rocky Frutos went three for three, including a double and his second home run, and had three RBIs and scored four runs for Moorpark (7-9-1).
