Accident Backs Up Traffic for Miles
A non-injury accident Sunday on the Ventura Freeway backed up traffic from Ventura to Thousand Oaks.
Just after 1 p.m., a driver lost control of a van in the northbound lanes of the highway, just south of Seaward Avenue in Ventura.
The vehicle went over the side of the road, tumbling 30 feet down an embankment. The driver was not injured.
The right lane was closed for an hour and 15 minutes as California Highway Patrol officers cleared the scene. The closure slowed traffic to a crawl from the Conejo Grade.
