Eminent Rapper

The first time I listened to Eminem on KKBT-FM’s “The Wake Up Show,” I was blown away by his style and lyrical skills (“He Doesn’t Sugarcoat Anything,” by Soren Baker, Feb. 7). Months ago he was freestyling on the show and someone mentioned he was white. My reaction was a non-reaction. His color, or lack of, has nothing to do with his talent.

I only hope that the press doesn’t take the most unimportant detail of Eminem’s career and blow it out of proportion. If he isn’t tripping off of it, you shouldn’t either.

Baker’s article was an excellent example of good satire, right? Eminem sounds like a character taken from a well-written “Saturday Night Live” skit.

I’m looking forward to the movie, but no way can it be as funny as Baker’s piece.

Big up to Calendar for giving props to Eminem. For the record, the radio show mentioned in the article is “The Wake Up Show,” hosted by Sway and Tech. More than 11 million fans tune in every week to make it the most listened to hip-hop show in the world. We broadcast live from Los Angeles (at 92.3 The Beat) every Saturday night from 10 to 1 a.m.
