* LONG BEACH STATE (5-4) AT LOYOLA MARYMOUNT (3-5), 7, KLXU-FM (89.9)--The 49ers put together two victories for the first time this season in defeating Idaho and Cal State Dominguez Hills. They’ll face a Lion team that appears much improved under first-year Coach Steve Aggers. Loyola is coming off a four-point loss to Portland State at home, but it has not been overmatched, as many expected. Long Beach guard Ramel Lloyd is tied for the Big West Conference lead in scoring at 20.4 per game. He has topped 20 points in five of the 49ers’ nine games. Junior transfer Lemi Williams (15.6) has also been a consistent scorer at small forward.
