Healthy Lifestyle Is Focus of Program
Young performers are set to send a message to their peers about making healthy choices.
Junior high school students in the Camp Fire Boys and Girls’ Teen Scenes program will perform a play they wrote as part of a youth-led, outreach effort Wednesday and Thursday at Brookhurst Junior High School in Anaheim. The performance is aimed at educating youngsters about how to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancy.
“Teen Scene students are very excited to be using theater as an outreach to their peers,” said Lisa Liken, program administrator.
Cassie Fox, who will perform in the play, said their message may make young people “hold off before having sex.”
Camp Fire Boys and Girls is a coed youth development agency, providing programs that help teens throughout the county develop life skills, social responsibility, healthy lifestyles and leadership.
