‘Valley’ Guy

Amy Wallace’s Nicolas Cage profile was up to her usual standard of excellence (“His Truth Is Out There,” Nov. 12). However, I think it would be appropriate to give a nod to those filmmakers responsible for Cage’s breakthrough film and first lead performance, “Valley Girl” (1983), directed by Martha Coolidge, produced by Wayne Crawford and Andy Lane, and financed and distributed by the Atlantic Entertainment Group, where I was a senior executive at the time.

His performance was radiant and intelligent, and his subsequent career has been a joy to anyone associated with the film.
