Airport to Add Police, Enhance Their Training
From Times Staff Reports
Burbank Airport officials said Friday they will nearly double the size of the airport police force and enhance training of new and current officers.
They acted in response to new requirements from the Federal Aviation Administration.
The airport’s force will grow from 19 to 34 officers, and salaries will be adjusted to reflect the higher level of training.
Oversight of the airport police and firefighting services will be consolidated under a director of public safety, a new position.
