Detective Arrested After Teen Alleges Molestation
A Santa Barbara County sheriff’s detective was arrested on suspicion of molesting a teenage girl described by authorities as his distant relative.
David Danielson, 49, of Orcutt was released from San Luis Obispo County Jail on Saturday after posting $60,000 bail. He is on paid administrative leave while the case continues.
The teen told authorities Friday that she was sexually molested two years ago in a single incident when she was 13.
Danielson has worked for the Sheriff’s Department for at least 15 years and is assigned to the forensics unit.
