3 Die as Quake Wave Washes Away Homes

A strong earthquake struck just off Papua New Guinea’s northern coast, causing a wave that killed three people and swept away up to 50 seaside homes, officials said.
The magnitude 7.5 earthquake hit about 530 miles northwest of the capital, Port Moresby, a spokesman for the Australian Geological Survey Organization said. Some roads reportedly collapsed.
