Mercury Ends Losing Streak at Five
Plenette Pierson scored a season-high 20 points and Penny Taylor had 16 points to help Phoenix end a five-game losing streak with an 87-55 rout of San Antonio in front of 6,904 fans Wednesday at Phoenix.
Diana Taurasi had 19 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Mercury (9-12).
Adrienne Goodson and Agnieszka Bibrzycka had 12 points each for the Silver Stars (6-16), who have lost seven of their last eight.
Connecticut 78, Detroit 68 -- Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 17 points for the Sun in front of 13,891 fans at Auburn Hills, Mich.
Deanna Nolan scored 20 points for the Shock (10-12), which lost for the fourth time in five games.
