Trainer Jones Is Well-Stocked for Trial Runs
Most of the 13 3-year-old fillies running tonight in two trials for the La Primero Del Ano Derby will be back for the final on April 17.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will be in the 400-yard final and trainer Paul Jones will have four trying to make the cut.
In the first trial, Jones has the maiden Los Al Fly and Honor And Cherish. In the second, he’ll send out Hi Jazzing Amanda and Feet Of Flames.
Feet Of Flames will break from the outside in the field of seven and she’ll be trying for her second victory in her last five starts.
The other entrants in the first trial are Make It Work, My Corona Momma, Quick She and So Significant. Sometimes You Win, Deal Buster, Special Mongoose Bug, Cash Her Out and Fortheloveofyou complete the second trial.
The picks: 1. Knines Dream. 2. Bedazzling Surprise. 3. Start The Concert. 4. Bobby Drifter. 5. Nashua’s Asset. 6. Cook Hot. 7. Scheriff. 8. Honor And Cherish. 9. Feet Of Flames. 10. Tin Mad Dog.
Four! Knines Dream in the first, La Patinavida, Kiss This G Bye and Bedazzling Surprise in the second, Start The Concert, Spark’en Prism, Flight Of Love and I Dream Of Jeanne in the third and Bobby Drifter and Dutch Coin in the fourth.
Shots in the dark: Induction Day steps up after a claim in the fifth. Im Moving On moves to the inside for trainer Billy Lewis in the seventh.
