Memories of a party heaven

I enjoyed seeing my old house in the Pacific Palisades in Home of the Week [“Drama Within and Without” by Ruth Ryon, Oct. 24].

We gave many great parties in that fabulous place. One especially large Christmas party was covered by The Times, photo and all, in 1971. We had tented the entire patio in the photo that ran with the article.

Elsa Lanchester, former owner and actress, visited me to be sure her bowling green and rose garden were still there. They were. The Brits love their lawn bowling and roses.

For us, and many friends of yore, that gorgeous house holds tremendously good memories.
