2 Teens Fatally Shot, 1 Youth Injured
Two teenagers were shot and killed and another person was wounded at 8 p.m. Saturday in the unincorporated area of Florence, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials said Sunday.
Anthony Chairez, 17, and Pedro Gonzalez, 15, were walking with another youth along the 1900 block of Nadeau Street, a few blocks west of Alameda Street, when a blue van pulled up beside them.
Three armed men climbed out and began shooting, said Deputy Oscar Butao. Chairez and Gonzalez were pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
The third victim was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The victims were not members of a gang, Butao said. Detectives were seeking witnesses to the crime.
