Those were the good old days
Frankly, this cheap gasoline thing has gotten somewhat annoying. (“$1 a gallon is next barrier for gasoline, some predict,” Dec. 9.)
It takes me forever now to pump my gas. At $4 a gallon, it took only a minute to pump 20 bucks. Now I have to stand there for hours. Then I have to walk back in and get change. Definitely an inconvenience.
And now, with my tank full all the time, I have to think of places to go. I can’t use my expensive gas excuse anymore to avoid unwanted social obligations.
Plus, cheap gas is bringing all those trucks and SUVs back out of mothballs, cluttering up the streets and highways. I even saw a Hummer the other day.
I just think it made sense when gas cost more than milk. After all, oil has to be discovered, drilled, pumped, processed and transported, while the cow just stands there, making more. Please bring back expensive gasoline.
