America does indeed love a winner, showering “American Idol” winner David Cook with a download deluge following his coronation last week. Cook has landed 11 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, the most from a single artist since the Beatles put 14 on the listing in April 1964. He also registered 14 tracks on Billboard’s Hot Digital Songs chart, which did not exist in 1964 -- but then neither did Cook.

His highest-ranking song on both charts is his recording of “The Time of My Life,” which logged 236,000 downloads, to place it No. 3 on the Hot 100 and No. 1 on the digital songs list.

“Idol” seventh season runner-up David Archuleta has three songs on both charts, the most popular being his rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine.” It was downloaded 71,000 times, to put it No. 36 on the Hot 100 and No. 16 on the Hot Digital Songs list.

On the album sales chart, Mississippi heavy rock quartet 3 Doors Down is two albums up with its fifth effort, which arrived at No. 1 on Wednesday. The set, titled “3 Doors Down,” sold 154,000 in its first week in stores. Last time out, in 2005, the band also entered at No. 1 with “Seventeen Days.”
