UCLA staff member reports attempted sexual assault near campus
UCLA officials are investigating a report of the attempted sexual assault of a staff member near campus Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The UCLA employee was walking on the sidewalk when she was approached by a man who pushed her and threatened her with sexually explicit statements about 10:40 a.m. near Westwood Boulevard and Le Conte Avenue in Westwood, the UCLA Police Department said in a release.
Several bystanders reportedly yelled at the man to stop before the employee ran away without injury and reported the attack.
Police said the attacker is a man about 35 years old, 5 feet 8, with a thin build, brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white tank top and dirty khaki pants and was last seen walking south on Westwood Boulevard toward Weyburn Avenue.
No additional information was available Wednesday morning, a police representative said.
Anyone with information about the alleged attack is urged to contact UCLA police detectives at (310) 825-1491.
