Fall has been good to The CW so far.

Last week, the network’s superhero spin-off “The Flash” gave the network its strongest premiere in five years. Meanwhile, the season three premiere of “Arrow” was up 11% from last fall’s premiere.

On Monday, “Jane the Virgin,” the network’s latest show, also had a promising start. According to Nielsen ratings, the show’s debut averaged a rating of 0.6 in the key 18-to-49-year-old demographic.

The new show delivered The CW’s best ratings for its 9 p.m. time slot since the “Gossip Girl” series finale almost two years ago.

The series, which averaged 1.6-million viewers, is based on Venezuela’s telenovela “Juana la virgen.” It stars Gina Rodriguez as Jane, a hardworking young woman who is accidentally artificially inseminated during a routine gynecologic exam.

The network, which also aired “The Originals,” had its most-watched Monday night in three years averaging 1.5-million viewers.

Due to local NFL pre-emptions for the Monday Night Football game, ratings for The CW in St. Louis could be inflated for the night.

Meanwhile, CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” dominated the night, averaging 15.6-million viewers and a rating of 4.6 in the key demo. The network was second-most-watched in the key demo with a rating of 2.6.

Ratings for CBS in San Francisco could be inflated because of NFL pre-emptions for the Monday Night Football Game.

NBC’s “The Voice” came in second to “The Big Bang Theory” with a rating of 3.9 in the key demo. The battle rounds on the show averaged almost 13-million viewers.
