Burden of Truth Joanna (Kristin Kreuk) deals with the pain of revisiting parts of her past and tries to come to terms with Billy (Peter Mooney) as their legal matter intensifies. Alex Carter, Star Slade and David Lawrence Brown also star in this new episode. 8 p.m. KTLA

MasterChef The contestants form two teams of seven in the first challenge, and the the team that loses competes in a cupcake challenge in this new episode. Christina Tosi returns as a guest. With Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Aaron Sanchez. 8 p.m. Fox

Outback The premiere of this new documentary series examines the humans and creatures that inhabit the Kimberley region of Western Australia. 8 p.m. KOCE and KPBS

Alone Together This character-driven comedy returns for a second season with Esther Povitsky and Benji Aflalo continuing their sometimes baffling friendship while trying to make their mark in Hollywood. Noteworthy guest stars this season include Fran Drescher (“The Nanny”) as Esther’s mother, Carmen Electra as an enigmatic beauty who seduces Benji and Natasha Leggero as a new friend Esther meets at the gym. A second new episode follows. 8 and 8:30 p.m. Freeform

The Originals The spinoff of “The Vampire Diaries” ends its five-season run with a finale that wraps up the saga of Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and their loved ones. Claire Hold, Christina Moses, Danielle Rose Russell, Charles Michael Davis, Riley Voelkel and Yusuf Gatewood also star. 9 p.m. KTLA

Wonders of Mexico The premiere of this new documentary series explores the Yucatan peninsula, surveying the variety of wildlife found there, including monkeys and jaguars. 9 p.m. KOCE and KPBS

Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour Pearl, Ozzy and Jack head to Space Camp in Huntsville, Ala. Dave Turner, the “Rock and Roll Redneck,” guest stars. 9 p.m. A&E

Suits Harvey (Gabriel Macht) is drawn into a dispute with the firm’s landlord, while Alex (Dulé Hill) pursues Samantha’s (Katherine Heigl) former client. Rick Hoffman also stars in this new episode of the legal dramedy. 9 p.m. USA

Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party RuPaul and Faith Evans are guests as Martha and Snoop unveil the most expensive burger in the world in the first of two new episodes. 9 and 9:30 p.m. VH1

Reverie Mara’s (Sarah Shahi) personal tragedy leads her to consider whether she has a future with the company. Dennis Haysbert, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Jessica Lu and Kathryn Morris also star in this new episode of the science-fiction drama. 10 p.m. NBC

Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters A good, old-fashioned children’s sleepover is interrupted by a monster in this new episode. 10 p.m. TRU

Wahlburgers A freak ice storm threatens to derail the VIP party celebrating the opening of the newest Wahlburgers in Taylor, Mich. Also, Donnie makes it his mission to reopen the Coney Island location. 10 p.m. A&E

The Sinner Bill Pullman returns as Det. Harry Ambrose, who is drawn back to his rural New York hometown to investigate an 11-year-old boy’s (Elisha Henig) killing of his parents. Tracy Letts (“Divorce”) and Carrie Coons (“The Leftovers”) also star in the season premiere of this dark mystery. 10 p.m. USA
