Italian luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana had its couture shows called Alte Artigianalità in late January. Only a select group of clients are invited to the exclusive event, which was started in 2012. The label will show its second round of couture designs in Italy in July.(Dolce & Gabbana)

A blue silk tuxedo, center, is made of a black satin single-breasted jacket, classic vest and pants with lateral black satin band and white poplin shirt with soft plastron. The double-breasted gray cashmere tails jacket, right, has peak lapels and contrasting blue velvet inlay work matched with a white poplin shirt with “diplomatic" collar, a double-breasted gray wool vest and a gray washed denim embroidered with a floral motif in gold thread and multi-colored crystals. The red corset dress, left, is made of silk velvet and embellished with applications in macramé lace, metal thread and crystals. The final detail is a metal mesh belt with a jeweled buckle. Next image: The tuxedo in gold silk brocade is characterized by a Renaissance motif and is made of a black velvet single-breasted jacket with one button and peak lapel, rounded vest, pants and white poplin tuxedo jacket with hard piquet cotton plastron and jeweled buttons. The spectacular coat, second from right, is embroidered with the special rug stitch technique depicting a rose motif along its length. Underneath, a petticoat in silk chiffon embellished with macramé and chantilly lace inserts. Silk twill robe, right, printed with old “Otello" by Giuseppe Verdi playbills that took place at La Scala Theatre characterized by revers, cuffs and borders of the pockets in black quilted velvet. The three-piece suit is in soft wool and characterized by pinstripes in 24-karat gold thread. Peak lapel red velvet brocade jacket, second from left, embellished with roses and La Scala-inspired friezes, finished with black cordonetto. The slippers are made of Bordeaux velvet and embellished with gold embroidery and crystals. The printed brocade kimono, second from right, is embroidered with gold-wound thread and crystals and worn with a poplin shirt with piqué plastron and hand-painted denim trousers with applications in crystals and micro jet beading. From left: The sweater is totally embroidered with gold and blue sequins and inspired by the “Nabucco" by Giuseppe Verdi. The pants are black and gold floral brocade. The look is completed by blue crocodile boots.
The caban jacket is made of wool with applications in gold-wound thread, crystals and sequins. The dress is in stretch georgette embroidered with gold-wound thread, crystals, bugle beads, sequins and embellished with a lurex lace hem.
The single-breasted shawl lapel green silk “marezzato” velvet jacket with one button highlights the rounded shape of the black Mikado vest. The pants are also in black Mikado and they are matched with a white poplin tuxedo shirt with hard plastron and jeweled buttons that completes the look, along with a fringed bow-tie in black jacquard silk.
