Two men killed, one woman injured in La Puente crash
Two men were killed and a woman was badly injured after their car crashed into a parked truck in La Puente early Sunday in what authorities said may have been the result of a street race.
The victims were in a white Chevrolet Malibu that was speeding south on Puente Avenue when the driver lost control and collided with a Ford pickup truck parked on the street near Amar Road, authorities said. The crash may have been the result of a street race with a beige sedan, a witness told the California Highway Patrol.
The 26-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger were killed in the crash. Another passenger, a 23-year-old woman, suffered major injuries and was taken to Los Angeles/USC Medical Center.
The California Highway Patrol is asking anyone with information about the crash to call their Baldwin Park office at (626) 338-1164.
