Man shot to death in Monterey Park; few details released
A man was shot and killed in Monterey Park on Wednesday, authorities said.
The shooting occurred around 2:10 p.m. in the 700 block of East Hellman Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
HOMICIDE REPORT: Tracking killings in L.A. County
On Thursday morning, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Department said no further information had been released, and the Los Angeles County coroner’s office had not yet released the man’s identity.
There have been 15 homicides in Monterey Park since Jan. 1, 2007, according to the L.A. Times’ Homicide Report.
The last previous killing was of 25-year-old Emmanuel Joseph Franco, who died Feb. 15.
