Football: Notre Dame prepares for grueling stretch of games

Share

Kevin Rooney, in his 34th season as football coach at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, must really like his job, because the Knights are about to face a scheduling challenge full of pressure.

First up is a Friday night road game against West Hills Chaminade, one of the top teams in the Western Division.

Then Notre Dame opens Serra League play against La Puenta Bishop Amat, followed by a showdown game against Serra League favorite Alemany on Oct. 18.

After that, it’s neighborhood rival Encino Crespi on Oct 25, and everyone knows that game isn’t decided until some weird final play as the clock ticks to zero.

Rooney has plenty of stamina left, but Notre Dame fans are going to find out where the Knights (4-1) stand in the coming few weeks.
