Boys’ basketball: Beverly Hills tourney to have one of its strongest fields
Top teams have returned to the Beverly Hills tournament, making it one of the strongest fields in years.
The tournament, set to begin on Dec. 8 and end on Dec. 13, includes Long Beach Poly, Santa Monica, Cantwell-Sacred Heart, Loyola, Westchester, Brentwood and Compton.
Opening games on Dec. 8: Santa Monica vs. Leuzinger, 3:30 p.m.; Cantwell-Sacred Heart vs. Palisades, 5 p.m.; Torrance vs. Westchester, 6:30 p.m.; Long Beach Poly vs. Birmngham, 8 p.m.
Opening games on Dec. 9: Hamilton vs. Beverly Hills, 2 p.m.; Brentwood vs. El Camino Real, 5 p.m.; East Bakersfield vs. Compton, 6:30 p.m.; Burroughs vs. Loyola, 8 p.m.
Even the home school figures to be improved after Beverly Hills picked up 6-foot-11 View Park transfer Chance Comanche.
