Cleveland hangs on to hand Minnesota its first loss

C.J. Miles had 19 points, Kyrie Irving scored 15 and the Cleveland Cavaliers held off a late Minnesota rally to hand the Timberwovles their first loss of the season, 93-92, Monday night at Cleveland.

The Timberwolves erased almost all of a 23-point deficit they faced midway through the third quarter, but Kevin Love, the NBA’s leading scorer before Monday, missed a three-point attempt with 1.9 seconds remaining and the ball was tipped away as time ran out.

Kevin Martin led the Timberwolves with 23 points. Love had 17 points and 13 rebounds for Minnesota, which won its first three games and was off to its best start since going 6-0 in 2001-02.

at Memphis 95, Boston 88: Jerryd Bayless keyed a fourth-quarter rally, scoring all of his 15 points in the period, and the Grizzlies erased a six-point deficit in the last nine minutes to drop the Celtics to 0-4 under rookie Coach Brad Stevens.

Golden State 110, at Philadelphia 90: Andre Iguodala made a career-high seven three-pointers and scored 32 points against his former team, Stephen Curry had a triple-double with 18 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds, and the Warriors handed the 76ers their first loss after a 3-0 start.
