UCLA is in three-way tie for first place in Pac-12 baseball

There’s a three-way tie for first place in the Pac-12 Conference baseball standings among UCLA (24-8, 10-5), Arizona (24-11, 10-5) and Oregon (24-10, 10-5).

UCLA came away with two wins in three games this weekend against Arizona in Tucson. On Sunday, Jeff Gelalich had three hits in a 6-2 Bruins victory.

Leading UCLA has been catcher Tyler Heineman, who played at Los Angeles Windward before joining UCLA as a walk-on. Heineman, who has a 14-game hitting streak, had eight hits in 14 at-bats during the three-game Arizona series, raising his batting average to .432.

Stanford defeated Oregon, 4-2, on Sunday, forcing the three-way tie for first place.
