Top-seeded men's duo Casey Patterson and Jake Gibb lost their opening match in three sets to Saymon Barbosa and Gustavo Carvalhaes, a Brazilian duo who advanced to the main draw through the qualifying rounds.

The 24th-seeded team of Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena defeated ninth-seeded Ben Saxton and Chaim Schalk of Canada, and 18th-seeded Tri Bourne and John Hyden beat Chile's Esteban Grimalt and Marco Grimalt.
