Off-duty LAPD officer shot at in Santa Clarita, not injured

An off-duty Los Angeles police officer was shot at but not injured Sunday morning in Santa Clarita, authorities said.

The car the officer was riding in was struck by gunfire about 10:12 a.m. near Rainbow Glen Drive and Swallow Court, said Sgt. Richard Cohen of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies detained an unidentified person in connection with the shooting and the person was cooperating with investigatiors, said sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Duxbury.

The LAPD confirmed the shooting involved an off-duty officer but did not release further details about the officer’s identity. No one was injured in the shooting.
