‘Bachelor’ couple Jason Mesnick, Molly Malaney welcome baby girl

“Bachelor” Jason Mesnick’s wife, Molly Malaney Mesnick, has given birth to a baby girl named Riley Anne Mesnick.

“We welcomed the most beautiful healthy baby girl to our family today Riley Anne Mesnick. Thank you all for all your well wishes!” Mesnick, 36, tweeted Thursday.

Riley was born in Seattle on Thursday and weighed in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces. She was 18¾ inches long, People magazine reported.

She “has a full head of hair -- probably more than I’ll have in the next few years,” Mesnick told the magazine. “What’s amazing to me is when Molly is holding Riley, her eyes do not come off of her. I’m already seeing how much Molly loves the baby.”

Malaney, 28, seems to already have her hands full with the wee one.

“Oooo this little peanut has already got me wrapped around her finger! #RileyMesnick,” she tweeted Friday.

Earlier this week, she posted a series of tweets about her frustrations with the final stages of pregnancy and mentioned she followed the old wives’ tale and “ate as much spicy food” as she possibly could to induce labor.

The Mesnicks are one of the few couples who met on the ABC reality dating show “The Bachelor” and went on to get married. This is Malaney’s first child and Mesnick’s second; he has a son named Ty from a previous marriage.

They met on “The Bachelor” Season 13 in 2009, but Malaney was not the girl Mesnick chose on the show. He gave his final rose to Melissa Rycroft and made his current wife the runner-up. When Mesnick later dumped Rycroft on national TV, he and Malaney rekindled their romance and were married in February 2010.

The ABC franchise wrapped its 25th installment Monday with “Bachelor” Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici going public as a couple.

‘WAHOOOOOOOO!!! Molly is going to be a MOM and TY a BIG BROTHER!” Mesnick tweeted last October when they made the pregnancy announcement. He said he was looking forward to Ty having another sibling, and said the boy has been “asking for a sibling literally since he could talk.”

“He’s been an only child all of his life, so he’s really excited to be a big brother and he totally understands what’s going on,” Mesnick, an account executive, told Us Weekly. “And it’s nice that he’s older, so maybe he will be able to help out a little bit.”

Something tells us he won’t be so keen on the little peanut’s dirty diapers.
