Leave it to Olivia Palermo to make shorts elegant enough for her wedding day!

“The City” alum-turned-style icon married model Johannes Huebl in Bedford, N.Y., over the weekend and shared a few unexpected details from the big day on her blog.

Palermo, who’s been dating Huebl for six and a half years, wed the German model during an intimate countryside ceremony among family and friends. She broke the news on Twitter on Sunday.

“We really wanted to keep this beautiful day very private and special to us and enjoyed the whole day with our family and two friends,” she said in a post on her blog. “Bedford is such an amazing and romantic countryside.”

Huebl took to Instagram to make the announcement, writing: “Special ‘Sundays’ News-Edition: Part 1 - Civil Wedding, we did it!!! #justMarried my beautiful bride.”

The new Mr. and Mrs. shared two understated, Pinterest-ready snapshots from their wedding day that showed off Palermo’s chic three-piece look by Carolina Herrera, which included a cashmere sweater scattered with ostrich feathers, and white shorts hidden under a tulle, satin and silk skirt overlay.

But her separates weren’t the only standout details of her look: Palermo’s kicks were a cheeky nod to something blue as well as to “Sex and the City.”

The bride rocked Manolo Blahnik’s Hangisi satin pumps in cobalt, footwear famously worn by Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoe-addicted alter ego Carrie Bradshaw in the film version of the HBO series when she finally married Mr. Big.

The 28-year-old also wore light makeup and pulled her hair back into her signature unkempt ponytail.

“I wanted the makeup to be light and fresh and more focused about the lashes while keeping the eyes clean,” she wrote on the blog. “My hair was in an uncontrived Pony Tail, one of my favorite personal looks.”

The groom also wore white! Huebl rocked a pristine white suit by Anthony Hamburg that he accented with a navy blue Charvet tie and Etro pocket square.

Huebl popped the question to Palermo, who played the villain opposite Whitney Port on their MTV reality series, on New Year’s Eve while they were vacationing in St. Bart’s.

Congrats to the stylish newlyweds!
