The-Dream has an album to promote, but when you have friends in high places (Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West, to name a few) calling for hits, it’s difficult to keep focus.

During a recent visit to “The Angie Martinez Show” in New York City, the radio show host couldn’t resist the urge to inquire about the producer-singer’s work on a slew of high-profile projects, including Beyoncé’s upcoming album.

While joking about getting in hot water for discussing his work with the pop diva, The-Dream let it slip that Jay-Z was making progress on his first solo album in more than three years.

“Jay’s coming along pretty good; I don’t know if I can say that yet,” he said before mentioning he thought everybody knew the rapper was hard at work on a new album.

The-Dream previously worked with Jay on his 2011 collaborative album with Kanye West, “Watch the Throne.” The trio, along with Frank Ocean, picked up a Grammy for the single “No Church in the Wild.” Jay-Z’s last solo album was 2009’s “The Blueprint III.”

As for his work with Beyoncé? He was tight-lipped about her album (he had a hand in her controversial buzz track “Bow Down”), but he said he had tapped her for a “very sexual” track for his upcoming album, aptly titled “IV Play.”

“She’s talking about her man, hopefully,” he laughed about the steamy record. “She was talking that talk. That’s one of the best performances I’ve heard from her in that way.”
