Three new craft beer destinations to visit this weekend

Tired of your usual craft beer haunts? You’re in luck, as this weekend sees three hotly anticipated destinations open — plus an anniversary party.

What’s up? Arcade games, cult-favorite snacks, more craft beer retail offerings and an all-new brewery and tasting room for one of L.A.’s oldest breweries.

Southland Beer — After a year of construction and permitting delays, this Koreatown beer bar and bottle shop is finally open for business. The strip-mall taproom has been ready to go for weeks — we first told you about it back in August — but the final red tape wasn’t untangled until this week when the liquor license was issued. 740 S. Button Mash — Craft beer, pinball and crispy tofu balls all under the same roof? Yeah, this place is going to be an instant hit with the Echo Park set. Another victim of the long waits for alcohol permits, the folks behind Button Mash have been ready to open the doors for weeks. And from the Starry Kitchen crew: Plan on eating those crispy tofu balls, tamarind chile chicken wings, burgers and other bar snacks. Strand Brewing Co. — The Torrance craft brewery is all moved in to its new, sprawling brewery space, and it’s celebrating with a grand-opening party all weekend long. The tasting room attached to the brewery is expansive, especially when compared to the cozy confines of the original Torrance tasting room. That location is closed, but after stepping into the new digs, no one will miss the original space (least of all the brewers who now have ample room to operate). Three Weavers Brewing — The Inglewood craft brewery is a year old, and on Saturday, Oct. 24, it’s throwing a ticketed party. The $25 admission (benefiting an Inglewood charity) gets you into the festivities and five 5-ounce beer tasters. Like the grand opening last year, the party will spill out into the lot surrounding the brewery with food trucks, bands and plenty of brews. The brewery will have 18 beers to offer, including the core lineup, special-release beers and some one-off concoctions made especially for the celebration. The party starts at 1 p.m. 1031 W.
