E.L. James on the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ trail
The bestselling erotic love story “Fifty Shades of Grey” is coming to screens this week, and author E.L. James has traveled to America to join the celebration. By the looks of things, she’s having a pretty good time.
James is sharing her experiences on social media. Like the rest of us, she’s Instagramming her breakfast. Like the chosen few, she’s taking selfies with Jamie Dornan, aka Christian Grey, and posting them to Facebook.
She’s also taken photos with fans, received “Fifty Shades of Grey” cake pops, gotten her hair done, had a mimosa, seen a little bit of New York, and shot pictures of the photographers shooting her.
Although she’s present on most social media networks, the way to get closest to James appears to be on Instagram. There she’s sharing pictures as @erikaljames with her 198,000 followers.
James appeared at a fan screening of “Fifty Shades of Grey” put on by the “Today Show” Thursday morning. When asked what she thought of the film, she turned to the audience of 1,000. “I had to make sure these guys were happy,” she said of the book’s fans, getting a reassuring round of cheers. As for how she felt? “Delighted, absolutely delighted,” she said.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” opens on Feb. 13. Film adaptations of the sequels, “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed” are also planned.
