Senior Mike Fernandez went three for five with one double and five RBIs and Jason Dominguez went two for two with three RBIs and three runs scored to lead host No. 4 Chatsworth (11-0), which used three pitchers over the five innings.

Cleveland 7, Sylmar 6
Senior Chris Honeycutt gave up two runs in five innings and went two for four with a triple and two RBIs and freshman Andrew Lambo went two for three with a double and one RBI, improving his batting average to .515, for host Cleveland (7-4).

Granada Hills 13, L.A. Marshall 12
Host Granada Hills improves to 7-4. L.A. Marshall is 5-4.

Highland 13, Reseda 5
Junior right fielder Tucker Mabee went two for four with three RBIs and two runs scored and junior third baseman Evan Johnson went one for two with a two-run double, two runs scored and two stolen bases for host Highland (5-5). Reseda falls to 2-8.

San Fernando 6, El Camino Real 3
Matt Navarez (2-2) had two hits and four RBIs and struck out five batters in five innings for San Fernando (5-5-1). Sammy Donabedian had a single, a double and a triple for host El Camino Real, ranked No. 18 by The Times.

Second Round

Carson 7, Granada Hills Kennedy 6
Humberto Bocanegra scored the winning run on a pinch-hit single by Anthony Wesley in the bottom of the fifth inning for Carson (7-4). Bo Napoleon had two hits, two RBIs and scored a run for the Colts, who scored three runs in the fifth inning to take a 7-5 lead.

Garfield 8, L.A. University 6
Senior Ricardo Jimenez hit a grand slam in the fifth inning and then came in later that inning to get the save as the relief pitcher for visiting Garfield (2-9). L.A. University is 2-8.

La Mirada 5, Narbonne 2
Mario Aluizo hit a home run and had two RBIs for Narbonne (4-7). La Mirada improves 8-3.

Peninsula 13, South Gate 7
John Prunckel hit a two-run home run and had a bases-loaded triple and Ryan Hammonds added a two-run home run for Peninsula (5-4). South Gate is 5-5.

San Pedro 14, Westchester 4 (6 innings)
John Mattera went three for three with a solo home run for host San Pedro (8-3).

EASTERN LEAGUE

L.A. Jordan 3, Huntington Park 2
Junior Ray White (4-0) allowed one unearned run in six innings, struck out eight and hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to give L.A. Jordan (5-3, 1-1) the lead for good. White has allowed one earned run in over 20 innings this season. Visiting Huntington Park fell to 1-1 in league.

Roosevelt 10, South Gate 3
Sophomore Alfred Rubalcava (2-0) struck out seven to get the win for visiting Roosevelt (6-3, 1-1). Freshman Freddy Castellanos went three for three with four RBIs and Jesus Campos went three for four with two RBIs for the Roughriders. South Gate is 5-5, 1-1.

Bell 4, Garfield 1

MARINE LEAGUE

Carson 5, Gardena 2
Esteban Garcia went two for three with an RBI and three runs scored for host Carson (6-4, 2-0). Gardena drops to 0-2 in league.

Narbonne 8, Washington 1
James Anderson was three for four with a solo home run and pitcher Derek Brewster (2-1) had 13 strikeouts in seven innings to lead Narbonne (4-6, 2-0) past host Washington (0-3, 0-2).

San Pedro 6, Banning 3
Eric Thacker (3-1) got the win, Steve Taylor earned his third save and Steve Carillo went two for three with two RBIs for visiting San Pedro (7-3, 2-0). Banning is 0-2 in league.

Terrion Ware had three hits and three RBIs, Jermaine Williams hit a solo home run and had a double and Nick Akins added a two-run homer and two stolen bases for visiting Los Angeles (3-1 in league).

Sophomore pitchers Henry Morquecho and Luis Perez combined for a 15 strikeouts for host Birmingham (5-4, 1-1). Granada Hills is 1-1 in league.

Chatsworth 2, El Camino Real 1
J.C. Barker's run-scoring single in the sixth inning snapped a 1-1 tie at Chatsworth. Matt Dominguez gave Chatsworth (10-0, 2-0), the No. 4-ranked team in the Southland by The Times, a 1-0 lead. Chad Boyd's run-scoring double in the sixth pulled No. 18 El Camino Real (6-4, 0-2) even. Senior left-hander Jake Norton (4-0) threw 83 pitches while recording a complete game.

Cleveland 19, Taft 1 (5 innings)
Andrew Lambo had two home runs and drove in six runs for visiting Cleveland (6-4, 2-0).

WESTERN LEAGUE

Hamilton 5, Venice 4
Matt Rochlin pitched a complete game for Hamilton (3-4, 1-1) and drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the seventh.

Palisades 4, Fairfax 2
Ronnie Michel went three for three and hit the game-winning solo home run in the sixth inning for host Palisades (6-2, 2-0). Fairfax drops to 0-2 in league.

Westchester 14, L.A. University 2
Reggie Foy had three hits including two doubles, Chris Valencia had two hits including a grand slam and four RBIs and Andrew Plotkin was three for three with two RBIs to lead Westchester (3-6, 2-0) past host L.A. University (0-2 in league).

Fremont 13, Manual Arts 0 (5 innings)
Curtis Johnson (3-1) pitched a no-hitter with nine strikeouts and three walks and Fidel Medina went three for three for Fremont (5-4, 2-0) at Manual Arts (0-2 in league).

Locke 5, Crenshaw 4
Augustine Avila scored the winning run on a double by Alex Padilla in the top of the seventh inning for Locke (6-2, 2-0). Crenshaw is 0-2 in league.

Sophomore left-hander Adam Dubinsky (1-3) pitched a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and reached base in all five at bats, including a double, and Hayden Velasquez had two doubles and one RBI for Marshall (4-6-1, 3-1) at Belmont (0-4 in league).

Richard Mestas pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts and went two for three with one RBI and Ozzie Lewis went two for three with a home run, double, two runs and two RBIs to lead host Granada Hills Kennedy (4-6, 2-0) over Reseda (2-8, 0-2).

Ulysis Medina went two for four with two doubles and two RBIs to lead visiting San Fernando (4-5-1, 2-0) past Van Nuys (0-2 in league).

Steve Luna went two for three with a three-run homer and a two-run double and Scott Cohen went two for two with two doubles and three RBIs to lead host Sylmar (4-6, 2-0). Monroe is 4-5, 0-2.

Mike Verbia went seven innings allowing one hit and five strikeouts, Jeovanny Bramasco went three for four with an RBI, Javier Hernandez went two for four with a home run and two RBIs and Jaime Munoz went two for three with an RBI to lead host Bell (12-1, 1-0).

South Gate 5, Roosevelt 3
Randy Molina went two for two with a two-run double and two walks for visiting South Gate (5-4, 1-0). Ramon Marquez went one for two with a solo home run in the bottom of the first for Roosevelt (0-1 in league).

FREEWAY/CROSSTOWN LEAGUE

SOCES 17, Middle College 2 (5 innings)
Diego Osegueda struck out 11 in five innings and Christian Johnson had a two-run home run for SOCES.

Andrew Rodriguez was three for three with three runs and an RBI, Miguel Tamayo was three for four with a double and two RBIs and pitcher Chris Torres had five strikeouts and allowed three hits in six innings to lead Carson (5-4, 1-0) past host Gardena (0-1 in league).

Daniel Ortega went two for three with two doubles and an RBI and Omar Flores added another RBI for host Narbonne (3-6, 1-0). Washington is 0-2, 0-1 in league.

Matt Kretzschmar pitched three-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks and Dustin Garneau hit a solo home run to lead host San Pedro (6-3, 1-0). Banning is 0-1 in league.

NORTHERN LEAGUE

Paul Zuber had a double and two RBIs and Skylar Hackley went two for two with a triple and single, two RBIs and two runs scored for host Eagle Rock (4-5, 3-1). Franklin is 1-2 in league. Noel Banuelos (1-1) pitched a complete game for Eagle Rock.

Daniel Tellas pitched seven innings with six strikeouts, Luis DeLaTorre went three for three and Ruben Huerta Jr. went one for three with a run and an RBI to lead host Hollywood (2-7, 1-0) over Canoga Park (1-1 league).

Sun Valley Poly 5, Verdugo Hills 4
Ruben Michel scored from third on the front end of a double steal to snap a 4-4 tie in the fifth inning for host Poly (4-4, 1-0). Michel had four stolen bases. Roberto Parra (3-2) pitched 4 2/3 perfect innings in relief and had a game-tying two-run single in the fourth. Verdugo Hills is 0-1 in league.

North Hollywood 8, Grant 4

WEST VALLEY LEAGUE

Chatsworth 6, El Camino Real 4 (8 innings)
Mike Fernandez and Jake Norton contributed one scoring single each in the eighth inning to break a 4-4 tie and lead Chatsworth (9-0. 1-0) to victory in its West Valley League opener at El Camino Real.

Chad Boyd, who had three hits for El Camino Real (6-3, 0-1), tied the game with a home run in the sixth inning.

Bryan Petersen picked up the victory for Chatsworth with three shutout innings in relief, striking out five. J.P. Hollywood had two hits and three RBIs for El Camino Real. Fernandez had three hits for Chatsworth.

Drew Vassil pitched a no-hitter with five strikeouts and had three home runs and drove in eight runs for visiting Cleveland (5-4, 1-0).

Jordan Alcantar went three for three with a home run and four RBIs and Robert Soto (4-2) threw a no-hitter and struck out six to lead host Venice (8-5, 1-0) past L.A. Hamilton (0-1 in league).

Westchester 6, L.A. University 4
Chris Valencia had two doubles with an RBI and freshman Darren Starks went two for four with three RBIs to lead host Westchester (2-7, 1-0) over L.A. University (0-1 league).

Kamel Wells went four for five with a home run, two triples and six RBIs and Vindy Mena went four for five and scored four runs to lead host Locke (6-2, 1-0) past Crenshaw (0-1 in league).

Lincoln improved to 3-5, 2-1.

Los Angeles 12, L.A. Wilson 2 (5 innings)
Nick Akins had a triple and two RBIs and Dennis Bosque had a double and two singles to lead host Los Angeles (8-2, 2-1).

VALLEY MISSION LEAGUE

San Fernando 8, Van Nuys 0
Seniors Antonio Martinez (1-1) and Rene Garcia combined for a four-hitter and returning all-area player junior Steven Pujol went two for two with a double, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored for host San Fernando (3-6-1, 1-0). Van Nuys is 3-5, 0-1.

Sylmar 5, Monroe 1
Tony Garcia (2-2) pitched a four-hitter, struck out nine and didn't give up an earned run for host Monroe (4-4, 0-1).
