Who’s Hot: San Clemente’s Cole Bergquist has had his best two nights as a quarterback, completing 20 of 29 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns against Santa Ana Foothill one week after completing 11 of 14 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns against Corona Centennial.

Player to Watch:

Orlando Scandrick had touchdown runs of 57 and 37 yards in No. 1 Los Alamitos’ 31-6 victory over Carson. Sunset League rival Huntington Beach Edison is up next, and a diverse offense might be necessary as the No. 24 Chargers have allowed only three touchdowns in their last four games.

Foothill at Newport Harbor, Friday, 7 p.m. With apologies to Laguna Hills, there’s a fair chance this will be for the Sea View League title. Foothill (4-1) was embarrassed by its 44-21 loss to San Clemente, and Newport Harbor (5-0) is trying to prove its record is legitimate.

Santa Ana Mater Dei at Bellflower St. John Bosco, Friday, 7:30 p.m. The Monarchs (2-3), ranked No. 22 and perennial powers who lost their first three games, take on the defending Serra League champion, No. 10 St. John Bosco (5-0).
