North Carolina, Maryland to play in lacrosse shootout
The of Maryland and North Carolina lacrosse teams will play in the Pacific Coast Shootout at Santa Ana Stadium on March 21 at 7 p.m.
Maryland, which reached the NCAA semifinals last season, has a 13-4 record. North Carolina, which was eliminated in the NCAA tournament’s first-round a year ago, is 10-5.
Lacrosse’s popularity has grown in Southern California the last five years. USC has a women’s team that competes in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. USC has a men’s club team. UCLA has men’s and women’s club teams.
Tickets to the Pacific Coast Shootout are $20 to $35 and are on sale online.
