Roller coaster fans, grab your tent and buy a ticket if you want to spend the night at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park and other roller coaster parks.

It’s all in honor of National Roller Coaster Day on Aug. 16, and money raised from camping tickets will support the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. on Thursday announced the Coaster Campouts at Knott’s Berry Farm and eight other parks in the U.S.

Here’s how it works at Knott’s Berry Farm: Campers stay at the Park Pavilion Picnic Center across from the theme park. Tickets went on sale Thursday for 50 spaces available Thursday and Aug. 14.

Overnighters receive a 7:30 a.m. wake-up call from Snoopy and early time on rides (9:30 to 10 a.m.) Aug. 14 at Camp Snoopy and Fiesta Village. The park is closed to campers at the regular time of 10 p.m. each day.

Tickets cost $200 each, which includes:

--A 12-by-12-foot space where you can pitch your tent and bring up to four people. (You bring your own tent, sleeping bags, lanterns, etc.)

--Four tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm on Thursday and four tickets for Aug. 14.

--Four meal vouchers good for a selected meal at the park.

--Parking for one vehicle.

If you’re on the road, Coaster Campouts are planned at Carowinds in Charlotte, N.C.; Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio; Dorney Park in Allentown, Pa.; Kings Dominion in Doswell, Va.; Kings Island in Mason, Ohio; Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, Mich.; Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minn.; and Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo.
