Man shot to death at Anaheim's Twila Reid Park

Man shot, killed in Anaheim park

A man in his 20s was fatally shot near the basketball court of an Anaheim park Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The shooting occurred just before 5 p.m. at the Twila Reid Park in the 3100 block of West Orange Avenue, said Anaheim Police Department spokesman Lt. Bob Dunn.

A man, whose name was not released, was shot at least once in the upper body. He was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Dunn said.

Several people who witnessed the shooting were questioned by police, but they offered conflicting reports, Dunn said. At least one, possibly two men carried out the shooting and fled in a vehicle.

No gun was recovered at the scene, Dunn said.
