A man was found with stab wounds in Compton early Monday and pronounced dead at a hospital, authorities said.
The man was found in the 4600 block of East Alondra Boulevard at about 12:50 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He was not immediately identified.
Homicide detectives were reportedly on the scene collecting evidence.
The man's death marks the 35th homicide in Compton in the last 12 months.
In that period, Compton was the sixth-most deadly of L.A. County's 270 neighborhoods, according to an L.A. Times analysis of homicide data.
About six months ago, 26-year-old Brasilio Cun Cutzal was fatally stabbed in the same block of East Alondra Boulevard, according to L.A. County coroner's records.
On Sept. 1, 2013, Cutzal was reportedly standing in front of Los Dos Amigos bar at about 2:57 a.m. when two passersby walked back to Cutzal and one stabbed him.
