Suspicious device briefly shuts down eastbound 210 Freeway in Pasadena
A suspicious device on the 210 Freeway briefly closed all eastbound lanes in Pasadena on Wednesday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The device was spotted in the roadway about 8:45 a.m. just below the Lake Avenue overpass and may have been thrown from a nearby Metro station, CHP Officer Peter Nicholson said.
Traffic was at a standstill while the CHP and sheriff’s deputies investigated.
“It’s bad,” Nicholson said of the traffic.
Lanes were reopened about 10:45 a.m., the CHP said. Metro Gold Line closed service at the Lake Station and was using buses for passengers there, the agency tweeted.
