A third man who was found bloodied and injured near the scene of the stabbing is now suspected of carrying out the attack and is in police custody, Ibarra said.

None of their identities was immediately released.

Although a possible motive for the stabbing was not released, police said the man was somehow related to the couple.

Prior to Monday, 10 people had been stabbed to death in Pasadena since 2000, according to The Times’ Homicide Report database.
