Police seek suspect in Huntington Beach sexual assault

Huntington Beach police Wednesday night were searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman while she was jogging.

The attack took place last week about 6:45 a.m. while the woman was near Huntington Village Lane and Center Avenue, police said.

The woman noticed the man following her. As she ran toward her apartment, she was pushed to the ground by the attacker, the Huntington Beach Police Department said.

“The suspect then attempted to sexually assault the victim, ripping her shirt before she was able to get away,” police officials said in a statement.

The attacker is described as Latino with short dark hair. He is about 5 feet 10 and weighs 140 pounds, police said.

He was wearing a light gray T-shirt, dark jeans and black shoes with orange laces.
