A 38-year-old man was fatally shot backstage at a Wiz Khalifa concert in Silicon Valley on Friday night, according to Mountain View police.

Officers were called to the Shoreline Amphitheatre about 11 p.m. after getting multiple calls about shots being fired backstage at the concert, said Shino Tanaka, a spokeswoman for the Police Department.

Police are searching for an African American man believed to be in his 20s. They are asking concertgoers for photos or videos that may provide clues. The suspect was described as 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 with short hair who may have been wearing black clothing and a red baseball cap.

Meanwhile, the identity of the victim, who was shot multiple times, has not been released.

It is unclear how the gunman got into the venue. Fans attending the concert had to be screened by security. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (650)903-6395.
