Michael Lewis

Michael Lewis grew up in New Orleans, La. He received an undergraduate degree in art history from Princeton University and a master's degree in economics from the London School of Economics.

He spent three years working on Wall Street before he left to become a writer. He is the author of seven books, including "Liar's Poker," "The New New Thing" and "Moneyball."

He has made television documentaries for the BBC, and performed radio sketches for National Public Radio. He has been the U.S. editor of the British weekly, the Spectator, a senior editor at The New Republic, and a writer for The New York Times Magazine. He is currently a contributing writer to The New York Times Magazine and a columnist for Bloomberg News. He is married to Tabitha Soren, the photographer and television journalist. They and their daughters, Quinn and Dixie, live in Berkeley.
