Up next for UCLA: Thursday vs. Washington
UCLA VS. WASHINGTON
When: 6 p.m.
Where: Pauley Pavilion.
On the air: TV: ESPN. Radio: 570.
Records: UCLA 16-6, 6-3; Washington 13-9, 5-4.
Update: Both teams bolted from the gate in Pac-12 Conference play but are now struggling. UCLA won its first five conference games but has lost three of the last four. Washington started 4-0 but has lost four of the last five. The Bruins struggle against teams with inside physical presence. Washington has 6-foot-9 Shawn Kemp Jr. and 7-foot Aziz N’Diaye, but its style is to pressure the ball with guards C.J. Wilcox, Scott Suggs and Abdul Gaddy. “If we shoot the ball better and space the floor out, they really can’t do anything about clogging the middle,” UCLA forward Shabazz Muhammad said. The Bruins shot less than 40% in the last two games, both losses.
