AT THE PLATE: Raul Ibanez hit a solo home run to right field, and Chris Iannetta hit a run-scoring double to center off Rangers ace Yu Darvish in the second inning. Howie Kendrick’s two-out, two-run single in the sixth tied the score, 4-4, and Collin Cowgill’s two-run double to left in the seventh made it 6-4. Grant Green added a run-scoring single in the seventh.

ON THE MOUND: Left-hander Tyler Skaggs, acquired from Arizona in the three-team Mark Trumbo trade, breezed through two scoreless innings before running into trouble in the third, when he allowed two runs and two hits and walked two. Setup man Joe Smith gave up a run on a walk and Leonys Martin’s triple in the third. Fernando Salas, Michael Kohn and Clay Rapada threw scoreless innings.

EXTRA BASES: An instant-replay review of J.B. Shuck’s stolen base in the seventh, a call that was upheld, delayed the game for 1 minute 30 seconds. . . . Green, who is fighting for a utility infield spot, is five for seven with three runs batted in. . . . Prospects Mark Sappington and Michael Roth each threw three scoreless innings, and C.J.
