Baseball: Freshman Justin Campbell of Simi Valley is tuning up

Share

As they say in “Mission Impossible,” I would suggest the following to prep baseball fans, “Your mission, should you accept it, is go watch freshman Justin Campbell of Simi Valley pitch.”

In a club baseball game last week, Campbell struck out five and allowed zero runs and two bloop hits in four innings of work.

It might be difficult for him to be a starter for Simi Valley this season, because the Pioneers are loaded on the mound. They’re going to be a top 25 team, but there’s little doubt that the 6-foot-6 Campbell is headed for a great career with the Pioneers.

Everyone is going to have to share him. He’s also playing junior varsity basketball.

“He can dunk and hit the three,” basketball Coach Ryan Bradshaw said.

Stay tuned.
