Boys’ basketball: Etiwanda knocks off Damien behind Kameron Edwards

It has been a relatively quiet season for powerful Etiwanda. Losses to Damien and Chino Hills had people forgetting about the Eagles. Well, it might be time to pay more attention.

With Kameron Edwards scoring 29 points and Delewis Johnson added 21, Etiwanda handed Damien its first Baseline League defeat, 86-69, on Tuesday night.

Etiwanda is 17-6 and 5-2. Damien dropped to 20-3 and 6-1. Chino Hills defeated Upland, 97-45. Rancho Cucamonga defeated Los Osos, 68-62, in overtime, with Tamer Jabsheh scoring 14 poins and Julian Ducree getting 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Redondo defeated Morningside, 72-52. Leland Green had 15 points.

In the Foothill League, Hart defeated West Ranch, 70-68. Myles Franklin scored 19 points. Valencia defeated Saugus, 56-34. Canyon defeated Golden Valley, 59-56.

In the Big VIII League, Corona Centennial defeated Roosevelt, 76-54.

In the Gold Coast League, Sierra Canyon defeated Viewpoint, 60-51, after it was tied at halftime. Terrance McBride scored 23 points and Cody Riley 13. Christian Juzang had 16 points for Viewpoint. Windward defeated Crossroads, 63-47. Brentwood defeated Paraclete, 64-55. Ountae Campbell had 19 points.

In the Marmonte League, Westlake defeated Newbury Park, 74-35. Michael Hayon had 21 points and 11 rebounds. The Warriors will play Thousand Oaks on Friday for first place. Thousand Oaks defeated Agoura, 75-53. Matt Hauser scored 28 points. Oaks Christian defeated Calabasas, 59-55. Justin Bessard had 23 points for Calabasas. Austin Moye and Alex Chinian had 14 points apiece for Oaks Christian.

Oak Park defeated Ventura, 80-72. Michael Alvarez finished with 30 points. Riley Battin added 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Foothill defeated Villa Park, 64-37. Riley O’Hern had 15 points.
